Who are the fortunate ones - an outsourcing story

“We’re beginning to wonder whether the fortunate people are those who have gone, or those who are left”

We were speaking with an organisation recently where a large number of people had been, or were about to be, made redundant or “out-sourced”. Their initial view had been that the people going were the unfortunate ones.

However, there was a growing recognition that unless the organisation changed what it expected “the survivors” to do and how they do it, they simply would not be able to cope.

Fewer people available to operate the same old processes would not be a recipe for success in the new organisation. .....
